City of Las Cruces Business Consultation

The Economic Development team works individually with businesses to assess their needs and provide them the best information to establish or expand their business. To schedule a one-on-one meeting, contact the economic development office at (575) 541-2286. Some of the services are listed below.

What’s Your Plan?
We take time to listen and ask questions about your business plan. It helps to talk about ideas and share information in case some of the details might need to be worked out from the City’s perspective. This process helps identify for you opportunities to get your business where you want it to be and hopefully avoid any pitfalls you may not have considered.

Referrals:
The Las Cruces area has a wealth of resources for small business. Staff will work with you to identify programs, agencies, or organizations best suited to meet your needs. Together, we can identify local, regional and state resources available for your business and connect you to them. Among the many useful resources is the Business Resource Guide provided by the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance (MVEDA). This publication is a comprehensive directory of business support services available within the region.

Data Mining:
The City subscribes to various online demographic and market databases that can be accessed during the consultation. The City GIS, and other public records, provide data about land ownership, utility locations, zoning districts, business registrations, construction permitting, and much more. In a consultation visit, we work with you to determine what information you can use to grow your business.

Target Marketing:
Our team can work with you to generate marketing and promotion ideas for your business, develop targeted mailing lists, and identify opportunities to promote your business in the community.
