On Aug. 21, 2015, The Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce 2015 Leadership Las Cruces team participated in a fun and fact-filled day focusing on the impact the military has on the area economy. Doña Ana Community College provided a training session for these community leaders focusing on team effectiveness. A video commemorating the service of our present-day military and those that served in the past was shown to emphasize our respect and gratitude to those who protect and have protected our freedom.

White Sands Missile Range, N.M., Jan. 11, 2016 –As of Jan. 11, 2016, the New Mexico driver’s license or issued identification card are not in compliance with the Federal REAL ID Act. The result is that they are no longer a valid single form of identification that can be used to gain access to White Sands Missile Range.

The REAL ID Act of 2005 establishes minimum standards for the production and issuance of state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards. 60 Minutes will air a segment featuring 98-year-old Ben Skardon's journey from the Bataan Death March to completing 8.5 miles at the 27th Annual Bataan Memorial Death March at WSMR. The segment will air on both 60 Minutes and the 60 Minutes Sports on Showtime. Usually, the sports program doesn't air anything until three years after the original air date on 60 Minutes, but they made an exception for the first time ever for this story.
