Casa de Peregrinos Emergency Food Program is celebrating it's newest program with a ribbon cutting and open house on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 4:30 P.M. at their flagship pantry at 999 W. Amador Avenue Suite F in the Community of Hope campus.

The Food Rescue Program is their latest endeavor and it's success has benefited many needy families in Las Cruces. With their partners, Walmart, Target, Mountain View Market, Los Altos Ranch Market, Nature's Grocers and White Sands Missile Range Commissary and additional 247,000 pounds of food were distributed to the families CdP serves. We are now taking registrations for the March 23 and 24 financial education curricula trainings that cover the FDIC Money Smart and Federal Reserve’s Building Wealth curricula.

You have the choice to attend one of the three sessions. You do not need to attend any more than one session; they are all the same. The one exception is that the training in Spanish on March 24 will have only a brief introduction to the FDIC Money Smart curricula because we do not have a Spanish speaking instructor. Las Cruces has obtained a Class 1 rating from the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO), making it the first in New Mexico and one of only 97 communities nationwide, to achieve the top ranking. The rating is based on a scale of 1 – 10 with 1 being the highest. The rating could result in lower insurance premiums for residential and commercial policy holders.
