Chamber members,
The Leadership Las Cruces program is comprised of nine day-long training sessions that span a period of nine months. Area individuals who participate in the program learn about a wide variety of fields by taking an in-depth look at areas such as state and local government, health care, economic and small business development, agriculture, education, military and other community topics.
The Leadership Las Cruces program educates on community diversity, trains future leaders, networks, encourages community involvement, introduces one to different elements of Las Cruces and connects individuals to future key leaders. Furthermore, in terms of benefits, the Leadership Las Cruces program educates, trains, promotes both personal and professional growth, allows individuals to give back to the community, allows individuals to make an investment in the future growth of Las Cruces and creates visibility and recognition of all involved.
Candidates for the Leadership Las Cruces program are selected from professional, educational, governmental, non-profit and business sectors within the Las Cruces, Doña Ana County area. The class size is limited to 28 participants. An individual must apply in order to participate in the program with support from their employer. The goal of the program is to find individuals who have an interest in becoming more involved with the community and are interested in becoming a more effective leader. Anyone interested in applying for the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce premier program, Leadership Las Cruces must meet the deadline of February 5th, 2010 to apply.

The 2010 Leadership program begins with Leadership Orientation on March 19-20 and will continue monthly throughout the year until graduation in November. Classes are generally held between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Tuition for the class is $900 and includes all meals and travel to most sites, and advance notice will be given of any additional expense. Payment must be received prior to the first session as to insure confirmation as a participant. Due to advance planning requirements of the program, no refunds will be given after the first program day.
