Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce CEO Bill Allen announced he will be leaving Las Cruces at the end of this year and moving back to his home state of Michigan taking on a new position as CEO of Midland Future – a combined chamber of commerce and economic development organization.
“I will be forever grateful to the Las Cruces community for all the incredible experiences, friendships and success that I’ve had. This is a tremendous opportunity that I could not pass up, but I know that the Chamber is headed in the right direction with the vision of the board and all of the support from our great volunteers, particularly the Conquistadores,” Allen said. Allen also said the experience he received in advocating for the military as well as the business community over his five years at the Chamber was a positive factor in him being considered for this newly created position.
“We are grateful for the work Bill has done here in Las Cruces. As an organization we will carry on the work that began under his leadership. He leaves behind a legacy of making a positive impact on our community. We wish him all the best on his new venture,” Russell Allen, chairman of the chamber’s board of directors said.
The Chamber will begin a search for its new leader right away. Allen’s last day will be December 31st.
