Las Cruces (August 6, 2014)--The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) has granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation to Memorial Medical Center and the Memorial Medical Center Cancer Program(MMC Cancer Program). To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet or exceed 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation is only awarded to a facility that exceeds standard requirements at the time of its triennial survey.

First class to graduate in 2018
Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS) announced the opening of Arrowhead Park Medical Academy, the city’s newest early college high school.
Under the direction of Principal Jennifer Amis and Dean of Students Marcy Oxford, the school opened its doors on July 1 to its first class of 61 ninth-grade students. Arrowhead Park Medical Academy will expand to ninthand 10th-graders in 2015-16, and will have its first graduating class in 2018.
