On Aug. 21, 2015, The Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce 2015 Leadership Las Cruces team participated in a fun and fact-filled day focusing on the impact the military has on the area economy. Doña Ana Community College provided a training session for these community leaders focusing on team effectiveness. A video commemorating the service of our present-day military and those that served in the past was shown to emphasize our respect and gratitude to those who protect and have protected our freedom.

Participants get firsthand look at services, challenges

In July, Leadership Las Cruces looked at local government, a day planned by Tiffani Bradley, Ana Henke, Mellow Honek and Jay Sundheimer.

The day started with an overview of the City of Las Cruces and the interworking of its departments and programs.

From there, the class traveled to the main fire station where Chief Travis Brown gave the class insights into the day-to-day work­ings of the fire department and how the department coordinates with other emer­gency services to provide the highest level of service possible. Class focuses on economic development and small business On Good Friday, April 18, the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce kicked off its Leadership Las Cruces Class by focusing on economic development and small business. The classmates in charge of organizing the event were Brant Adams of Jacobs Technology, Yosef Abraham of the Carrillo Law Firm, Reza Mansouri-Rad of El Paso Electric Co., Russell Blundell of White Sands Missile Range and facilitator from the Leadership Committee Savonne Griffin of FirstLight Federal Credit Union.
