Serving its customers, from large to small Satisfaction is key to bank’s growth since 1904
Pioneer Bank was established in 1901 and today is one of the oldest financial institutions in New Mexico, providing financial services in Las Cruces for 40 years.
Pioneer Bank’s mission is, “To provide financial services to our customers throughout southern New Mexico and west Texas.”
Helping people is what inspired staff members of the bank to go into business.
When asked what was unique about Pioneer Bank, President Kiel Hoffman said, “Our business truly is based on providing excellent customer service. Since most banks today offer many of the same types of products, we believe what makes us different is the customer service experience. We have amazing employees who are diligent about recognizing customers by name, focus on meeting customer’s needs and providing the best value for our products and services.”
Currently, Pioneer Bank is the 13th largest bank in New Mexico and it continues to grow. Pioneer Bank would like to be in the top 10 within five years.
The bank stays ahead of the competition by providing continuous training on customer service and their product offerings.
“We encourage our employees to be decision makers by offering them plenty of support for times in need,” Hoffman said. “As a company, we also are always looking at new products to serve our customers best.”
One of their biggest challenges has been to work in the regulatory environment.
“We are the highest-regulated industry in America today and it seems like the rules change every day,” Hoffman said.
Pioneer Bank is one of the few remaining banks that offer free checking for consumers and businesses and with those free accounts they offer excellent customer service. The bank is big enough to help most everyone with the products and services they might need, but it is still small enough to make customers feel important.
The business goals of Pioneer Bank are to continue to grow on both the lending and deposit sides of its business while providing the excellent customer service in the community.
“We also want to continue to be a great partner within the community, with our employees sitting on many boards and committees, raising funds for several welldeserved (organizations) and supporting our community both financially and with volunteers,” Hoffman said.
