Stephanie Armitage, branch manager for First National Bank of the Rio Grande on Northrise Drive, is a native of Doña Ana County. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from New Mexico State University in 2007. After graduating, she moved to South Korea to teach English as a second language for two years. When she returned to the United States, Armitage worked for Bank of the Rio Grande, advancing from part-time teller to branch supervisor in one year. She then went on to work for the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico to help form the Coalition for a Drug Free Doña Ana County, before she returned to the bank in 2013.
Armitage was raised to give back to the community that gives you everything, as is exemplified in her volunteer work. She recently became a Yellow Pepper recruit for the Las Cruces Conquistadores, and acts as a goodwill ambassador for the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce. She is active in Las Cruces Young Professionals and is currently a participant in Leadership Las Cruces Class of 2014.
Armitage said she also enjoys a variety of other activities. She enjoys working in her garden and is an amateur photographer. She and her boyfriend, Ernie Sichler, consider themselves “foodies,” immersing themselves in different cultures and cuisines. She is an avid hiker, always accompanied by Sichler and their dogs, Harley and Bailey.
