Mandy Leatherwood works in the marketing department of Memorial Medical Center.
She started in 2007 as marketing specialist and was promoted to director of marketing in 2010. The hospital recently expanded the marketing department and Leatherwood has taken on a new role focused on communications and community outreach.
Leatherwood graduated from New Mexico State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and journalism and mass communications. Through her work, Leatherwood has been involved in many community and fundraising events in Las Cruces. She also volunteers in her personal time. In 2011, she was a March of Dimes High Heels for High Hopes model, raising more than $10,000. She was asked to return as a Legacy Model in 2013.
Leatherwood has also led a Girl Scout Weed ’n’ Seed troop for at-risk girls since 2009. She was recognized by the Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest as a “Woman of Distinction” in September 2013. They are both avid Aggie fans and can be seen cheering on the team at every football and basketball game.
