Gifts Baskets By G

Personalizing gifts to create smiles

Sending a gift to a loved one or a friend just to show you care is what Gift Baskets By G enjoys doing. With many different ways to show your appreciation, a gift basket is a unique way to include different gifts someone might enjoy.

Gift Baskets By G opened in 2009 when owner Georgia Lane retired from a career in education. Giving gifts to students and co-workers was always something she said she liked doing, so she decided to convert her hobby into a business.

Gift Baskets By G caters to a variety of customers. Its customers are individuals who are looking for a unique gift to help celebrate holidays, birthdays, new additions to the family, weddings and other
special events. In addition, the company offers gift baskets that can be used for fundraising raffles, silent auctions, prizes for golf tournaments and more events.

When asked why her business is unique, Lane said: “Our business is unique because all our baskets are made after we get the phone call from our customers. We listen to our customers and bring their ideas to life. We make certain that each gift basket is a memorable experience for them. It is about creating an experience that is fun and exciting. We have the passion to create a thoughtful gift with flavor for adventure and beautiful colors that ‘wow’ the customer. We personalize each gift basket for the recipients. We incorporate color scheme and dietary needs.”

Lane said she enjoys creating incredible gifts form just a simple thought from a customer. The customer’s reaction astonishes Lane and even had a customer say, “It was so pretty, I didn’t open it but put it on display so everyone could see it.” Lane said she hopes Gift Baskets By G will become the premier gifting service in the Las Cruces area by accomplishing exemplary customer service and personalization.

Although the business is doing well, Gift Baskets By G has had to overcome the struggles of a home-based business. One of the main struggles was having access to the necessary equipment to create the design work for the baskets. Advertising a small business has also been difficult but the
business has used the Chamber resources to market their product.

“The Greater Chamber has supported our businesses in so many ways that have helped us overcome the challenge of making the community aware of our business,” Lane said. “They provide so many networking and training opportunities – we just appreciate them so much.”

Also, by attending the two National Gift Baskets Conferences each year and by being members of two National Gift Basket Associations Gift Baskets By G have been able to keep its competitive edge. Lane said they also strive to use local products and “made in New Mexico” salsa to support other local businesses.
