Allen spoke to the Ambassadors about Leadership Las Cruces, a professional development program sponsored by the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce.

Leadership Las Cruces program begins with a two-day leadership skill-building session in March, followed by seven additional one-day sessions over the course of eight months. Demand for the course far exceeds the availability of seats; entry into the program is highly competitive, demonstrating that the Chamber is on the right track with course content. Allen encouraged the Ambassadors to consider applying for the course.

The Chamber also sponsors the Las Cruces Young Professionals program. This group generally targets professional individuals between the ages of 21-40.

“The goals of Las Cruces Young Professionals are to connect young professionals with other like-minded individuals, develop and advance the careers of its members, and make a positive impact on the community. The group consists of current or aspiring managers, executives, professionals, and entrepreneurs,” said Allen, who pointed out that participating in the program provides an opportunity for the Ambassadors to network and meet many people from all different facets of the business environment.
