What an amazing way to kick off 2013, and I must say, I am blessed to be part of such an active, supportive and growing community.
The Conquistadores were busy welcoming 14 businesses to the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce by hosting individual ribbon cuttings for each.
I would like to welcome two new Conquistadores to our group, Bruce Ball from Consolidated Solar Technologies and Kayla Bassing from Hester Allstate Agency. It is great to see the goodwill ambassadors grow and have new community leaders supporting our efforts.
We wrapped up the month by hosting one of the best Las Cruces Day in Santa Fe weekends ever.
We had more than 225 business and community leaders travel to Santa Fe to represent Las Cruces and Doña Ana County at the capital, share our message and thank our legislators.
We all worked together to share our voice and support the growing businesses in southwestern New Mexico.
I am very thankful to all who helped us make this weekend a success – all of our speakers, legislators, sponsors and the Chamber staff. We couldn’t have done this without all of you.
A big thank you goes to the Las Cruces Day in Santa Fe Committee: Co-chairs Kiel Hoffman and Savonne Griffin and committee members Karen Altamirano, Kari Shepan, Brett Beckett, Don Buck, Jaylene McIntosh, Troy Tudor, Leslie Martinez, Audrey Valdez, Sarah Stegall, Gene Gant, Jeff Giffing Belinda Mills and yours truly.
In addition, thanks to all of the other Conquistadores who volunteered their time to help in Santa Fe. We rocked it, and I am so proud of each one of you.
Just think, this is only the start of the year, imagine what else we have in store for our community. We are here to help business succeed, maximize membership benefits, be an active participant in Doña Ana County’s economic growth and have fun.
Trust me, we will achieve all of these listed and more.
See you soon!
Stacie Allen, Chair of the Council of Conquistadores 2013
