The Army restructuring plan announced in July includes the 2nd Engineer Battalion leaving White Sands Missile Range by 2017.
“Our devotion to and support of these soldiers and families remains steadfast … they are a part of Team WSMR,” said WSMR Commanding General Brig. Gen. Gwen Bingham.
She added that “our thoughts are particularly with the 595th Sapper and 40th Mobility Augmentation Companies currently downrange (in Afghanistan) doing a magnanimous job in the fulfillment of their mission.”

The morning started before sunup. I was feeding horses.
Feeding hay from big bales is hard. I made sure Bailey got at least her share. She was going to work today.
At 6:30 a.m. I walked to her with a halter. She left and started her predictable lunge circle.
“OK, Bailey, I’ll be here when you decide you’ve had enough,” I told her.
The routine concluded when she stopped and turned to me. That signaled she was ready for the day. I put the halter on her and we left the pens.

If you remember from my previous update, we had two exterior areas of the historic Armijo-Gallagher House, the future home of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, we had opened up to assess.
The west wall area section was stabilized with adobe. Since then, with it drying sufficiently, we applied a leveling coat of mud plaster to be followed by a lime plaster, which was the original exterior plaster material.

Las Cruces Day in Santa Fe, an annual event hosted by the Conquistadores, gives each of our citizens, individuals and businesses the opportunity to show their support for our city, our local legislators and legislation that is important to our future.
